Hi - I'm hoping someone can give me some info on this problem. Bought a new 6 cylinder Ateva a month ago. Great vehicle except the engine pings continually under any load. Toyota service people asked me to fill out a survey and return to them. Couldnt fix the ping but said Toyota are aware of it. Any feed back would be appreciated. Also the vehicle seems to eat fuel, ie on highway only run returns 11-12Ltr/100klm. Wishing I kept my old VS Commodore which returned 7-8Ltr/100klm on same run.

Your car is brand new, the engine is still tight, of course its going to use more fuel. Should start to loosen up at about 5000km.
As for the pinging, who knows? as long as you're not driving it like a grandpa with not enough throttle.
