Nitrous Oxide and 18R-G Thu, 30 September 2004 11:13 Go to next message
I know its all a bit "fast and furious", but has anyone run nitrous on an 18R-G, a smallish shot (35-50hp shot)? Probably an injected one, I'm assuming hooking up the N2O kit on twin sidedraughts would be a bit overly complex.
Just wondering how well it responded, how long it lived etc.

This is pure "heresay" but a guy in the next suburb has an 18RG running a huge downdraft of some description. The block and head were "o" ringed before the engine was fitted to a Corona. He has fed a 150hp shot of nitrous through it.

Went like a cut snake, so i've been told.

I would caution anyone against the use of nitrous, on any thing which has not been built for serious intrnal pressures!

regards Chuck.

I ran a 75hp kit on a bone stock 202 for 1.5 years before it went goodbye...

an 18-R isnt that much of an expensive motor so even if you do cook the bitch you will have still had some fun
