oh well i can drive as fast as i like @ 0Kph AND put no kms on it...
seriously tho
DAMN.
now ive to go digging and find out precisely where in the speedo chain (gearbox, cable, unit) the problem is :S
and all this after reading of about 3 other blokes, same problem! i only skim read them too now i'm gonna have to go back and actually pay attention! hehehe on the upside i know where i can find good advice fast.

the s/c doesnt have an oil cooler.
I would shield the alternator if you did mount it there not only for water but for rocks aswell.

Count me in for the 22nd, either me or 4agte will be driving....
Im heading down to wakefield on monday, list of things done this week goes as follows:
dba rotors front
bendix metal king pads front
pirelli p6000 tyres front
noltec bushes (sweet!)
toe set to 3mm
camber set to bout 3 degrees
went for a drive this arvo and its like a whole new car , metal king pads seem pretty good once warmed up, pirellis will take a bit of time to grip but considering the time frame im pretty happy with what ive done

4agte, the performax isnt the ultimate. they still dont do a ultimate for the aw11. but while i can get em cheap at work, i'll use the Bendix pads.
wiso, on the smallport 4agze the alt sits down low under the a/c compressor and the power steering pump sits up above the a/c compressor. on the aw11 4agze the alt sits up top and the a/c compressor below it. what alt-a/c braket do you have?
the 4age and 4agze alt's are different and uses different wiring plugs. the 4age a/c pipes are different at the compressor but if you have the 4agze a/c compressor and that pipes from it to the joiners that are at the firewall you are set.
you can use the oil fiter sandwhiches from the 4age on the 4agze to use the oil cooler on the firewall.
hope some of all this makes sense? beers are cold and taste great.

yes.... yes that statement does make sense
You are GOD
yeah I have all 4age gear, alt, a/c comp, and piping, wiring but I think its all good, I am going to mount my a/c as normal on the normal bracket, and weld up another bracket to go below this and hold the alt. I do have the bracket from the levin, with the alt at the bottom, a/c and power steering, but it won't fit on the 2 since it has those cooler lines and 'sandwhiches', there.

well the way its looking I will most likley be looking good for this meeting, I have been going really good on the engine the last few days, most of the gear is on, all the wiring is done, just gotta put the fuel system back on, make an alternator bracket and coil pack bracket. then of course the cooler mounting and piping, and get all the gear to set up the water injection. simple
does anbody know what boost pressure their indash LED comes on? is it like most other standard ones in toyotas at 3psi?
I know that light is controlled by an ecu pin, but does SC mr2s have a boost pressure sensor on it? anywhere, maybe on the side of the head or anything?

have the setup apart.... I never have those brakes apart anymore cause they are on the celica and I don't give a shit about that car anymore, If I can't find the box I'll go down to the place I buy them from, they are the Australia wide ditributer on EBC pads in OZ, they rule!
umm yeah i think I mentioned before that the GT4 pads aren't available in geenstuff, but the Legacy ones which are the same are available in greenstuff. there is one minor differance between the pad, the GT4 ones have 2 holes in the top for the anti squeal clips, while the legacy ones do not have these holes. no biggie

The ECU engages the supercharger based on intake manifold vacuum. When the vacuum drops below 8" the supercharger clutch is engaged. The clutch stays on untill the intake manifold vacuum has risen to over 10" for a period of 5 seconds. This time delay was added to avoid cycling of the clutch during shifts and momentary throttle transitions.

ohh well all I have left now is to make the new alternator bracket, mount the IC and make up the piping for it, then I should be good to see if she starts just can't actually drive it until i get the water injection setup, other wise, bye bye engine
So its looking better for the meeting all the time

umm just wondering, mostly fat why do you guys keep saying ghetto rides, was looking up the meaning of ghetto and this is what came up
Quote: |
1. A section of a city occupied by a minority group who live there especially because of social, economic, or legal pressure.
2. An often walled quarter in a European city to which Jews were restricted beginning in the Middle Ages.
3. Something that resembles the restriction or isolation of a city ghetto:
|
or in the thesaurus one of the many definitions that wern't music players were this, is this more what you meant?
Quote: |
Definition: disadvantaged
Synonyms: cheapened, depreciated, deprived, destitute, devalued, distressed, ghetto, impaired, needy, poor, poverty-stricken, run-down, shanty, skid row, underprivileged, weakened
|
ohh never mind I think I found the definition of it on Urban dictionary, this it?
Quote: | 4. (adj.) jury-rigged, improvised, or home-made (usually with extremely cheap or sub-standard components), yet still deserving of an odd sense of respect from ghetto dwellers and non-ghetto dwellers alike
