Nissan V8-Still Here, Last Chance! Sun, 03 October 2004 04:44 Go to next message
I realise this is the toyota forum but I will be replacing this motor with 1jZ! I bought this about a month ago and it just isnt going to fit properly in the chassis it as planned to go into and a few other things have changed as well. Its a vh45de complete from throttle body down, cost $2200 sell $1600ono
or if anyone knows a good place to advertise nissan stuff let me know, I couldnt find any australian nissan forums.

What car had you intended it go into?

Where did you get the engine?

What did you plan to do for a gearbox?

What did you plan to do for engine management?

I've got a project Datsun that's wanting a beast engine but I'm not sure a quad cam V8 would fit... would be a help if you could answer the above Qs.

Might be interested, but am wary of buying an unknown unit.
Please email me more details on the engine; local or import, any tests, verifiable milage, pictures, compressions, etc, fittings, etc.

Must Go ASAP!
This is the complete motor from intake down inc, starter etc. It has all injectors, ignitors, sensors etc but not much loom and no computer. Would be great with autronic and some proper headers, easy 220+kw NA

I think the reason I havnt had any serious interest is that its a bit unusual ie there is no standard easy conversion, ie 4agze into corolla etc, would take a bit of imagination and skill to put it in something. Id put it in a clubman if I could fit in another project. Unmuffled headers out the side, with a motec and maybe a bit of nitrous for those pesky hayabusa's. So many ideas, so little time...

Someone buy this before I do something stupid like that!

I have a front engine dragster that i was going to put it into with a tricked up trimatic behind it, or Powerglide if that broke as the chassis accepts either. The nissan motor kind of looks like a hemi with the big heads on it, Its actually not much smaller! Lighter though.

You cant beat the auto for the type of drag racing i was going to be doing, consistant and reliable. If i was to do a road car id look into a skyline transmission or something. I dont believe these motors ever came with a manual from the factory. A supra box may adapt up?
