G Series Rear End

Haio Gozymus!
Anyways I am looking at purchasing another stocker non LSD Diff housing (complete i.e. crown wheel and diff centre) to put into my soarer as I am going to weld one for a budget dodgey two way job, I am going to keep the other for winter and when I dont feel the need to drift.
Anyway I seem to be having trouble finding a complete housing from a GZ20 soarer and my question is will a stock MA70 G series rear end housing fit in? as they are a lot easier to come by...If they do then I will keep that for winter as it is already an LSD and lock the current diff I have.
Also while on topic of soarer rear ends, how can I dial in about 3 degrees of negative camber at the rears as this will save some strain on my axles from the locker.
I dont want lectures on driving with a locked diff, I just want some help here, cheers in advance

you'd need a camber adjustment kit for the rear end.
3 degrees neg, locked diff and heavy car, i will gaurentee you that tyres will last no longer then a week.
just get an air locker dude. switch it on and off, easy as that

yeah but the air locker defeats the purpose of the dodgey two way, it costs over a grand...I might as well get the TRD two way, which is not an option unfortunately
As for the tyres, well thats something I am gonna have to live with I spose

Yes it will be all good times in the wet, in car parks, roundabouts and all general tight turns. How about a Detroit soft locker? Your best bet would to vist a 4wd specialist like ARB and ask them the pros and cons. How about taking a trip to a 4wd wreckers.

I'd also like to know if an MA70 G series complete diff housing will bolt into a GZ20.

Get the LSD centre from an MA70, get it tightened up, drive it like that every day without fear of breaking numerous driveline components.

I'd be surprised if they weren't a direct swap, since just about all other mechanical components are; they're basically the same car with different panels. See if you can find someone with an MA70 who'll let you get under the car and take photos!

I've got a JZA70/MA70 Torsen LSD centre that has been doing nothing for a while that is in excellent condition. So I thought I'd find an MA70 housing, put it in and either sell it or use it for a while. But then I thought I'd just find an MA70 clutch LSD and complete housing and use that instead. It would probably be cheaper.
The only problem with the Torsen centre is it is very expensive to have someone take out the housing from my car and put it in with new seals and bearings then put it back in again, so finding a seperate housing might be the go then I'd also have my car while it's being done.

Justcallmefrank - The whole point of the Locker is for some decent drift, something that is much easier to attain with a locker than with a normal LSD, being such a heavy car being able to steer with the rear end will have massive advantages when on a track.
I reckon I will get a full MA70 housing and centre tho as they are already LSD and leave that for the street
Cheers people

Actually, having the car come in to the corner in massive understeer before snapping out into oversteer doesn't sound like a good recipe for controlled drift. Getting the tail out yes.

lol, having a locked diff isnt going to make a drift car matt... far from it.
snap oversteering, whiteknuckeled fear more like it

That the reason why i'd go for an air locker and not a CIG or MIG locker. Single spinner in the wet for safety and locked for quick launches.

I didnt say it would make it a drift car, I just said it would make it a better recipie for drift than a standrad LSD found in teh soopra
I have driven a car with a locker for 10 months, and some bits were painful, parking and shit, but it was boatloads of fun when it came to taking corners at pace
