Really, really, really, ridiculously big meet Dec 12th @ Calder drift comp Sun, 03 October 2004 11:01 Go to next message
Just starting a thread less filled with junk for this. I just noticed it posted up a bunch of other places around here and thought it'd be good to confirm it all and get people planning it.

When: Sunday 12th Dec. Time 10am
Where: Calder Park
Event: Full Lock Victorian drift championship and more info.

There will be a big meet up at the Vic drift comp at Calder Park on Sunday Dec 12. Gates open at 8am, and I'm guessing practice will be morning and competition commencing early afternoon. For a meet it'd be best to meet up before the really interesting stuff starts so people aren't too distracted.

Who's going to supply the barby, and the hyooj car stereo for the music?

I'll be competing, so I probably won't be able to sit round and socialise much. But everyone get into it.

Hen

has anything been confirmed with the other 86 guys from interstate? it all seems a bit un-organised at the moment. if memory serves ther are meant to be convoys of 86's coming from different states. does any1 actually know what is going on?

Well so far Ae86 Drift is going to do the Flyers/Posters
These are for Workshops , part accessories stores etc , and i guess if there are also download-able , people can print them out of course at work . And leave them on Toyotas windscreens etc Cool .

Tofu Garage has spoken about a spot to someone in Fulllock the other night when we where at Calder {also get a stereo in that car Chad} Laughing .

I have got the portable race carport out to check that is ok today , also had the fold-able bbq out as well {but i guess Calder will be selling food that day so that might not be ok}. Might be out to Calder sometime this week for a look around or go early to the next Drift night to look for a good spot where people can easily travel between looking at parked cars and the track .

We need the Day added to as many Forums as posable , i have already posted in on Twincam.org . Shiri since you are on every forum on this planet we will leave this to you ok ?

Maybe should do also contact serious performance ? since i guess they will be out there filming the event . They might want to do another small Ae86 bit for one of there DVD's .
GT do you have a contact there from last time ?

As for interstate people traveling down , might also try to organize something in the city i guess on the Saturday night before ? I think the main Ae86 people from each state will be organising the convoys , In Sa i am sure Simon Ae86 has that under control , And i think in NSW Ae86 drift also would be organising that state . As for the others ?

Also people should bring as many spare rims and tyres for Hen since he is burning them up at such a rate Smile what ten tyres last drift night ?.

Well theres no need to invite other cars , since its going to be a nissan city anyway as normal , i would focus more on getting more Toyotas there . as i didn't see many last time .

Absolutely AWESOME!!! I knew this was coming up, I might have another car by then (unfortunately it will most likely be a Nissan) please don't beat me up, because I will still own a Toyota. Anyway I hope I do have something by then and maybe have some skills up to enter. If not I'll see if I can get hammered for a change Laughing.

Oh yeah next practice meet is Wed 20th Oct. See yall there hopefully Wink

no shit!

Ok maybe a bit harsh {or a joke , i found it funny , sorry}, but reading the response from Gt , i would have been under the interpretation that he had that under control , The last ae86 bit on the serious performance 7 was organized by himself and i think Tofu Garage .

I don't see that getting anyone who takes there car for filming would be a problem , as most performance Australia DVD's are full of nissans , hondas etc . Really not many Toyota sections .
And i can see there will be some really different Toyotas there that i dont think would ever be in the same place again .

What i really see being a problem is defiant numbers of people coming . Just since its in December and people are so flat out at the time of year , i might pay to really start getting numbers down now so we can organize firm numbers / places / passes etc .

SO no bullshit who wants to go and display there TOYOTA ?

Ok guys - i got a price off the boss at work re gazebo's if we want some ( to put over cars etc - or sit under if we do the show thing )

they are both 3x3meters - but of different grades of poly covering

Cheapy - light tarp material - pipe frame - like a mechanio set to put together but boot storable - $ 47 approx

The bigger one - 3x3 - higher grade poly tarp type material - collapsable frame , but semi self erecting ( ie all the legs are joined - just click it together ) - $129

Id need 10 DEFINATE buyers to get this happening - ie no backing out - as if i place an order - the order muxt vbe filled - i wont carry unsold stock + get my arse kicked from here to next week

Depending on availability from our warehouse - i Should be able to secure these well before the meet

If you's want i can probably borrow one of those $129 gazebos from my work for food facilities, might be able to borrow a couple *that we have displays at our work anyways* instead of people using their money for something that we'll need for a day only.

If you's want me to borrow it let me know soon so i can ask in advance *jus so i dont piss them off asking on the day...again*

when you say "show" your car do you mean actually entering it in to be judged? or just bring it along to show it off like the other 15,000 spectators? I'll be in for the later, My engine bay is too ugly for the first.
I will have some pretty dope interior and stereo fully installed by then. I just hope I don't have to work that day/night.

I should have my lil 86 running by then.

Is there anything i could do to help out??
I'll buy a toymods sticket or get one custom made Wink

instead of the v-opt.co.jp thing have a toymods.org.au
HAHA eat that!

12th of Dec is my deadline to make my lil beast like bling.

Maybe a dum question but what is the police presence like at these events? Thinking more about defects than getting busted doing something stupid.

I can imagine a squad of 'highway patrol' cars licking their lips and rubbing their hands with a fresh pad of happy yellow paper. Laughing

Ohhhh don't worry the boys in blue might make an appearance, they do after some of the Friday night drags and large events. But it's not like they set up RTA bays or anything, just try not to bring any attention to yourselves. But once again they may not show up, they might actually have better things to do for a change. Very Happy

SO no bullshit who wants to go and display there TOYOTA ?

My (aus spec converted to) panda trueno will be there for sure, so you can add me to a list of definites.

What's the go though? Are we all just going to park in one section of the carpark? Can we park 'em all in a row on the hill? Is someone in the know gonna organise something?
