i was in town the other nite and had a guy in a white celica wanting to race me (he changed his mind wen he found out my car wasnt turbo just sounded turbo). and i was just wondering how many horses the engine puts out.

details are.

- 2.2 ltr engine
- cannon muffler
- sticker on the bumper sayin 'i may be fat and your ugly but i can loose weight'
- had a wrc sticker on the side
- i dont know the madel as i dont go after new celicas, i think it was a st-185 or sumthin close to it

if sumone knows this car or the owner is on here. wat power is it puttin out.

Sounds more like an ST-184 to me.

2.2litre engine = 100ish (can't remember exact figure) kW

All those extras would add about dick-all to the output.

He's probably not putting out as much as he says he is hehehe

my car puts out 100hp at the fly and weighs about 700-900kgs so im guessing that it would be a good sorta test for my car.

yeah it would have been an st-184, they use the 5sfe, which is the same engine that is in some early 90s camrys, i think they put out 95kw at the flywheel.

Take it to willowbank and find out if you can beat him instead of racing on public roads ..

then you have a slip to show if you got owned or beat him

You weren't lapping were ya? I was in there the other night for a laugh...did 1 lap in the girlfriends 75 beetle convertible. Still hasn't changed.

The st184, i repeat the st184 is the one that we're talking about. As far as i know they have a 5afe in them, not quite sure on power output though, about 100kw id say. The st185 has a 3sgte with a shitload more.

this is getting painful
st184 = 5sfe ( camry motor )
jdm st184 = 3sge
st185 = 3sgte
power is very different between 184 & 185

as cycle said it would be a st184 Smile

was talkin to him the other nite casue i had to pull ova cause the corona was gettin awefully hot(then the starter motor died and wouldnt start)

its a 90 model wrc

ST182 = 3S-GE
ST184 = 5S-FE
ST185 = 3S-GTE and is totally different

jdm st184 doesn't exist, I think the 5S-FE was purely an export market motor.

sorry mate there is no such thing as a 90 185 rc, rc came out in late 91 onwards.
