Check out Phil Bradshaw site:
http://home.clear.net.nz/pages/phil.bradshaw/EFI%2 0Operation.htm

I was reading it this morning and i'm fairly certain it will answer your question. SOmewhere on there he has a table containing the ECU pinouts and what is strictly necessary to get it running.

This is what i was talking about:
http://home.clear.net.nz/pages/phil.bradshaw/16v%2 0Pins.htm
or
http://www.club4ag.com/faq%20and%20tech_pages/ECU% 20Japan%20AE86%204A-GE.htm

By the look of that you def don't need A/C or SPD but i'm fucked if i know what the other two wires you're talking about are. There's not much on that plug you do need though, according to that info.

the pinouts on phils site are for a bigport, not a smallport, there arent enough pins...

edit: the ones on club 4AGE are for a bigport too.

im finding this very useful, i want to hook up as few wires as possible on mine.

Ah, right. My bad.

There're a couple of things on that list that they say aren't necessary but you'd really want to have connected imo, like the circuit open relay.

just trying to help you out. there may be somethign there you may be able to use.

on my 4age we used the ae86 computer from my previous engine
we did nt worry about this pinout problem as we didnt encounter it.

ELS1 is Stop Lamp Switch
ELS2 is Idle Up Diode
A/C is Air Conditioner Clutch
SPD is Speed Sensor (in SX cluster only)

IMHO the first three would be optional in your case.
The SPD sensor, or lack of, from what I've read in forums, affects the rev limit of your engine. Again optional but I think my engine runs more smoothly with it connected - not sure why or whether it is psychological.

Don't understand what you mean by "F2 Grey" as I can't see any A/C connections on either of the two grey ECU connectors.

The 4AFC doesn't have an engine check light but yes you could hook up a light if you wished.

Have you looked at the ECU Pin Out Identification on www.club4ag.com ?

If you got a CSi cluster it should have a tacho, speed sensor (I think) and an engine check light. hmmm .. maybe not a speed sensor.

I think you'll find that A/C connections are to trigger the idle up process whichyou shouldn't need.

the grey f2 (22 pin)connector is connected to the c/open wires its connects to the body loom it also connects all the cluster up to the respectable? sensors Smile
i was hopeing the 4af cluster would have a check engine circuit of some sort, ill pull the cluster out and check it out, i might be able to mod the cluster to have a check engine light thanks for the input guys (side show does a speed sensor )
