whenever i try to d'load a pic from the net it comes up as the pic title as "untitled" and the pic type as a bitmap

why did this happen and how do i change it

IE 6 can do this when it resizes the image. If thats the problem, just reload the image and you should be able to save it.

Otherwise its because IE 5 onwards is poorly managing the cache size, and its full. Empty your Temporary Internet Files and it should work fine.

Alternatively use Firefox. Very Happy
