motor rb20det in a s13, i know its not toyota but i thought id start here,
When we remove the coil plug from n#6 coil nothing happens, do it to the others and the motor runs a little rough (no surprise there) but this n#6 cyl has got us stumped.
there is fuel and there is spark, there are no rattly unusual noises, what could be the problem witht he number 6 cyl,
I will also post on skyline forums.
Please help?

The only other thing it needs is compression.

Although we havent tested it with a gauge, there was enough pressure in the cyl to blow my mates hat of when the spark plug was out.
He also said that something hit him in side of the head, couldve been been part of the valve (suspect broken maybe) but the oil pressure hasnt changed at all, might've been compression ring, who knows.

dodgy valve seals/faces?
... not evident when the plug is out, but once in- probably obvious effective at lowering compression once plug reinserted.
do a wet/dry comp test on that cyl followed by a leak down - and if you have the time/money get a boroscope (spelling?) to look at the bores for scoring (dud rings).
no noises would probably indicate that at least the crank is alright.
btw - is there excessive crankcase pressure (measure with hand over oil filler hole - pressure should fluctuate from mild vacuum to slight pressure at idle)?
oil pressure would remain good even if a valve broke off - droap in pressure would indicate problems with bearings etc...

Is the lead to that plug in looking pretty shity ? Might be tracking somewhere before the plug.... you can normally see that though if its really obvious. Fouled plug even ? Are you sure that #6 injector is triggering ? Other then that there isnt really anything else electrical... Like the others said check compression i suppose.
