just wondering what the REAL way to do a handbrakie is
i've been throwing in the odd one (in a private enclosed area of course ) but sometimes it just doesnt want to step out, i heard if you throw in a little front brakes you'll take the weight off the back and it well step out a lot better?
so, clucth in and hold , down shift, turn, (blip brake pedal, pull handbrake), release handbrake, clutch out, spin, counter steer, 720 degree backflip?
sounds right?

Having trouble locking up the rears? Get a real handbrake! (and/or get yours adjusted). My MR2 handbrake is incapable of locking the rears in the dry (only just in the wet) - I tried on Sunday and it was just sad. The Supra on the other hand must use the same hydraulic system for the handbrake as for the foot brakes, because all you have to do is yoink on the handbrake and voila! instant sideways, as much as you please.
It's surprising how little throttle you need to keep the spin going once you're going round...

Jessie, did you get a 'kit' to adapt the calipers and discs? If so, is it made by PBR?
Cheers,
Jeremy.

Ahhh ok. The reason I ask is because my mate just bought a T18 diff with R31 disks and calipers, but his appear to be some sort of conversion kit as the calipers have a cast bracket that mounts the straight onto the T18 housing. I've had a number of ppl ask me where to get such things.
Anyways, back on topic, I just pull the fucker up and enjoy the ride! Don't have to hit the brakes etc. How hard is your susp?

firstly to me its not worth doing under 60kmh. how i do it is like this for my '22
- go 60kmh+ (over 80 and i start t0o get multiple spins )
- at same time; hook right, rip handbrake, clutch in and light press of brakes.
- while ass end swinging out; let go of handbrake and shift first (rear locked up so goes straight im), clutch still in obviously and still light press of brakes.
- once done 180; release brake and slam accelerator, pop clutch
in my '22 i always get mad 180 spin and smoke show. for added fun ill re-light press of brakes to sit on spot and go from there

depending on the power of your car you could even get away with 2nd instead of using 1st if you dont want to sit too hard

If you want to learn how to do it properly go and join a car club and do some motorkhanas, lots of experts, plenty of practise, safe environment and a whole lot of fun.

you need to start turning a bit before you rip up the handbrake....
By the way does everyone here rip it to the right?
Try going left...

its actually better for the suspension to do it to the left as there is less weight on that side and it doesnt dip on the rip, but i find it sorta uncomfortable that way.

i can't do it either i don't know why but i did it on downhill and mention to get it to work, wet days are easy, but yeh.. i think it's the weight shifting, but what would i know? i just drive me dads car

i find its easier if u go on the brakes before you turn in or as you turn in. Just do it enough to shift a lot of the wieght to the front

here here
going into the spot you want to turn on be in 2nd not *too* fast. foot brake so the weight is shifted off the backs, start to turn, clutch i, handbrake on, jsut before you are pointed where you want to gorelease the handbrake, give her some revs and pop the clutch and youll be in business.
i had trouble learning at first geting the balance of foot brake to bring the weight to the front before you give the handbrake the old yank-ola. i found the tricky bit. once you get that right you'll be using it instead of 3-point turns in no time bugger off the U-Turn hello V-Turn
