Turbocharged AW11 Question Tue, 05 October 2004 02:05 Go to next message
Hey guys, I'm going to turbo charge my 89 Mr2 and I'm just after some general info and help on how to do it.

I'm planning on using either a t28 from a pulsar, or a r33 turbo (not quite sure on what this is, but a friend of a friends is sellings thier's so it may be convienient) having a low mount manifold made, as well as a dump pipe with wastegate screamer.

I'm not sure on how to intercool it however, I was thinking of either using a large top mount cooler (600 x 300 x 56) or a standard cooler from a r33 and placing it behind the side air scoop.

Another isue is the cumputer, would it be possible to use the
4-agze computer?(I would be running boost @ about 7-10 psi due to injectors and standard fuel pump)

Finally I was just wondering if it at all possible to bolt on the quad throttle boddies from the 20v engine to the standard 4-agze?

THanks I will keep everyone posted on the build and the results.

T25, T28 and the WRX (not sure of it's prefix) are good matches for the 4age/gze engine. i'm not sure what the r33 one is either.

a w2a i/c is the best option for a AW11, failing that a a2a i/c mounted either where the factory gze one is or mounted in front of the gearbox. you will not get enough air through the engine side vent for a i/c. the factory AW11 gze a2a unit isnt too bad a i/c.

i run 7 and 12psi on my 4agte with the 4agze ECU with-out any trouble, the 365cc injectors and still only have the 4age fuel pump. best option is a aftermarket ECU that you can tune, but we cant all have what we want.. Sad Wink

why would you want to? the 20 valve is a smallport head when you have a bigport head.
get a inlet manifold and t-vis plate from a 4age.
