20v Fault diagnosis Tue, 05 October 2004 23:37 Go to next message
Hi,
My 20v seems to have gone into "limp" mode.

I have "W" pin 8 on the small plug connected to my engine light - which turns on when the ignition is ON.

nothing changes when i ground TE1 - just constant engine light.. Sad Shouldnt this be flashing any fault codes to me?

any suggestions.?

if light stays on all the time then ecu might be faulty

if theres nothin wrong u should still get constant flashing

u need to join e1 and te1

even try removing throttle or air flow sensor plugs

create an error and see if the ecu picks it up

then u can see if the warning light is workin ok

i have come across some faulty ecus

was it just wired up recently or has it been running fine for awhile

did u recently jump start it?

has been running faultless for 2 years.

No jump starts lately - problem started while driving normally..

Should the check light only turn on when the key is in ON position? because this one turns on when the key is on ACC.

well the 20v is wired incorrectly if the ecu light comes on with acc

but this shouldnt cause probs

unless the ecu light is wired to acc and not to ign

why would the ecu light being wired to acc (but still grounded through the ecu) cause a problem?

me and electrics = BAD..
