RT142 IRS - T or F series diff Wed, 06 October 2004 03:45 Go to next message
As the title suggests how can I tell which one it is.
I can get my hands on a complete rear end but the car body is no longer, so is there anyway of telling from looking at the diff?

Get the tape measure out.

F series is 7.5 inch crownwheel, T series only 6.7 inch. Will try to find some pics of mine for you to compare to.

Every RT142 I've seen had an F diff.

Thanks guys. I'm picking it up tomorrow so will check it out then. Purple_Beasty I checked out some of the photos on your site after doing a search on these forums and the shots of the floor pan were very usefull. That certainly one way of putting IRS in car, I'm hoping to make mine fit without going quite to the extreme of cutting the whole floor out, hopefully just fabricating cross member mounts and properly new shock mounting locations.

AHEM!!! wrong norbie!!!! Shocked

There are in fact some AUS built RT142's which use the bog warmer diff and disc brake rear as seen in some higher spec ST141s.

Its only the fully imported RT142s which have the IRS F series rear, typically these are the Avante model.

Trust me, there is some picknpayless experience talking here Razz

Yes, but as per the thread title, we're talking about IRS Corona's here. Thus I maintain it's almost certainly an F diff. Smile
