1jz Speed sensor woes

Hey guys...Back to the auto problem (i've been hanging onto this one for about 8 months now)
Anyone know where the speed sensor on a jzx-81 recieves its power source from? Can i hardwire it to a resisted +12? Or is it a special fluctuating signal from the computer?
Apparently i have no power getting through to my speed sensor (broken wire?) which means - no overdrive and crappy changes. Anyone in melbourne who would know anything if noone here can help?
Cheers,
Troy

just wire it to 12 ign
but the speed sensor drives the sppedo not the gbox
then from back of speedo the signal goes to ecu
yr 1j has one ecu that does both gbox and engine right?
then the speed sensor shouldnt matter much
it should have a revolution sensor on the gbox
if its a 2 wire sensor then they dont have 12 v
if yr speedo is workin then the speed sensor is ok
like i said just drive the car here and i can fix it
only prob i cant do any work for 5 weeks
booked out for 2 weeks then goin partying and working in qld
