Hey guys,

With all this stuffing around from JMS, I'm thinking about putting a Microleb on the 1GGTE. Now, down the track I definetly want a Hiperboost.

Will the fact this will in theory bring on boost faster affect the tune adversely, or will the fact it's tuned MAP vs TPS account for this?

Thanks,
Nathan

If it is tuned correctly the Hiperboost on the Microtech will not cause any probs whatsoever.

How soon and quickly do you expect the boost to come on??

Depending on how I set mine up I can have 20psi at about 2800rpm, that hits very hard Very Happy I don't have a Hiperboost (they sound very good though from what I have read on them), I have a setup that I made up myself, it is adjustable between high and low boost via a switch in the car. High boost is gated and low boost is not gated (I did this for a reason Smile ).

Edit: probably a better answer from me would have been yes the Microtech will respond quick enough to a rapid rise in boost.

Yeah, I'm just trying to work out that if I get my Microtech tuned before I get the Hiperboost, whether or not the way it affects its boost delivery will affect it adversely.

This low-boost non-gated and high-boost gated so normal people can drive the car? Smile

Yeah I set it up high/gated low/not gated for a number of reasons, it is good for when other people drive it (eg the Girlfriend), low with no gate is easier to control in motorkhana type events, low with no gate is safer in the wet etc etc. It basically gives the car two totally different engine and driving characteristics at the flick of a switch.

My car is pretty light and has a very light rear end, so it breaks traction very easily (which can be good and bad Very Happy )

I can't see any problem with getting the car tuned pre Hiperboost, one of the tuners who frequents these forums or even the guy who makes them may offer some better info on this topic than I can though.

Cheers.
