I heard a better story recently, perhaps a bit more believable too.
This guy got pulled over by cops that had setup a radar trap, the guy was speeding tried to talk his way out of it cop wouldnt have a bar of it so the guy accepts the ticket. So this guy then asks the cop why isnt he wearing a reflective vest like he is supposed to, cop says its none of his concern. Guy says, just a minute, goes to his car gets out his department of transport credentials and writes the cop a $500 fine for not wearing his vest .
I dont know this for fact, but apparently the transport department can give this fine to roadworkers, cops, etc, etc, anyone that is supposed to be wearing this vest while workin around traffic and isnt.
Story amused me, makes me want to work for Queensland transport

i was udner the impression that a cop cant speed or cop any traffic ingringements or he loses his job? at least in vic that is..
any one who knows a coppper feel free to correct me, but i got this from my mates brother, who is a cop, and was telling us stories of how close he has come, but showed the cop who pulled him over his copper badge, and got away with it.
^^^^that sentence doesnt make much sense, but i cant be fucked re-phrasing it.

I feel there would probably be a bit of truth to it. I know pleanty of people being fined for not wearing PPE
Oh and i know an ex police officer who was kicked out for excessive speeding(many occasions) and a few other minor incidences

So I'm in the middle of an OH&S management course and asked the workcover people that are teaching part of the shit about this. Apparently they can fine the cops for pretty much anything (the way the cops do to us) It has happened but not to the full extreme of offences. His words "if we fined them for everything they did wrong just at roadside RBT's the dept would be bankrupt by now"
They seem to have a gentlemans agreement where they do nail them but not fully (and probably works they other way too)
