Dude! Where's my dizzy? Thu, 07 October 2004 20:32 Go to next message
Hi all! I just thought that I should put some pics here of my distributorless ignition system project. This is Mega Jolt Light Junior. It works great and I can recommend this. Full working ignition system has costed:

Coil pack 15¤ (25AUD)
Edis Module 5¤ (8AUD)
VR sensor 20¤ (33AUD)
Trigger wheel FREE (own made)
PC Board 15 US$
Programmed processor 8 US$
postage 4 US$
Rest of the components 25¤ (42AUD)
Wires and stuff FREE

Which makes 86¤ (145AUD), not bad hah?

Here's some pics.

Don't mind about shitty look of my engine bay. If you wonder about that wire mess, I can say that there is my Megasquirt wiring. Tape connections are temporary Cool .
Here's link in case the pic isn't working:

Few points that I helped me to decide:

*Direct ignition - no use for dizzy anymore. The most important criteria due to space problems...
*simple
*separate system
*10x10 map
*user defined outputs(4)
*rev limiter
*shift light (low importance to me, but the output can be used for something more exciting)

There is lots of features coming. Cool

Oh and here's the homepage. Check it out.

i got the hardware for this setup - except the coil pack and something to replace the dizzi. Brent Picasso's board is small but has some neat features.

note: the app running it is java

... is cool to see install up-n-running!

any suggestions for replacing the dizzi on the 18R (needs something there otheriwse oil pump won't work)

cheers,
Charles.

It's the same scenario with 3T. Look my "dizzy". I turned the cup off and then turned M20 thread to the stump. Next I turned that hat from aluminium with same thread. Easy!
