4AGE bucket diameters Sun, 29 September 2002 05:48 Go to next message
Hi there.
Just wondering if anyone knows the bucket diameters for the 16v and 20v 4AGE? With the latter is there a difference between silver and blacktop?
Also, can someone confirm that the 20v is shim under bucket (inner shim)?
Cheers Dave.

Before anyone tells me to look at Bill Sherwood's site....I have and can't find those particular details. Very Happy No offence Bill.

Anyone working on the 16v 4ag buckets may be interested to know that the toyota ECHO buckets are completely compatible.

ECHO buckets are of shimless design and are lighter than 20v or 16v items. it's on the club4ag main page.

Yes I saw that on the 1SZ on club4ag forums and was hoping they are around 28mm to suit a non 4ag application.

Big high lift cams in a 7M would rock. Very Happy

Echo (2NZ-FE at leaast) buckets won't fit a 4AGE as they're 31mm diameter, where the 4AGE ones are 28mm dia.
(I have a 2NZ here in pieces)

I don't believe the 1SZ comes in anything here in Australia, but I rang my friendly Toyota dealer. No buckets in Australia at the moment, but can be landed here in 2 weeks from Japan. $26.75 + tax each.

That's a cheap shimless conversion for a 4AGE. Or a 7MGE.

Is the 2NZ shimless (or shim under bucket) too, Bill?

I was wondering how you got on.

Did you wind up with the 1 piece bucket-shim, or is it possible to get a shim under bucket affordably?

The buckets have a shim in them so you change the whole shim bucket to get your clearance rite. There is an article on the club4ag website.

But are the 20v the same diameter as the 16 v?

No, 20V has 23mm buckets. 16V has 28mm buckets.
