Can anyone who has a ST185 GT4 tell me what the deal is with the steering column. Im not sure if mine is functioning properly.
When I turn my engine off my steering column disengages and will move upward as if acted upon by a spring. If i dont hold it and and move it up by hand the movement can be fairly violent ending in a solid clunk when it hits the stop.
When it comes to starting the car again, i have to pull the column down manually to return it to its proper position where it locks in and I can drive noramlly.
I guess i really want to know if the steering column is motorised i.e. is supposed to move up or down on its own, or is mine functioning as it should.

whats between a six pack and a keg?? i must have a case lol
my steering column does remember its previous position, but does yours move independently or do you have to move it yourself when you turn the car on or off??

hehe, sounds like mine might be operating normally...one final question if i may,
If you remove the key from the barrel and you let your steering column move up of its own accord is it a violent movement or does it move up as if motorised?? ie at a steady pace??
