Has anyone out there put a non turbo 2jge into an mx83. I want to use original 7m sensors, wiring and computer. I know I will have to lengthen a few wires etc but have I misssed anything major? I would use original box with a 1j bellhousing.

This has been discussed on the Cressida Forums
I think someone posted it on Supra Forums and basically said that its piss easy to swap all the sensors over to the 2jz and run it off the 7m ecu.
It was the biggest load of wank ever.
Just get a 2jz with an ecu, you will have much better drivability.
And yes, you can still use the 7M tranny, as long as you get a JZ bellhousing for it.

what if you use the 7m block aswell
this means the engine mounts will bolt straight up

The 2jzge has a dizzy and afm like the 7m, the turbo has neither, isn't the autobox with the 2j have a shorter length requiring a longer tailshaft? Also it requires the speed sensor from the box while the 89 mx83 gets the signal from the dash.
