hey i just saw a cheap gt4 gearbox and i was wondering if it could fit straight into my 91 celica sx. the gearbox is from the same generation celica. and if it can fit would the car respond any differently? thanks alot

umm.... No

You cannot convert a FWD Celica to 4wd, not unless you want to cut the back of it off & weld in the whole GT4 rear end.

If you want 4wd, sell it & buy a GT4

i didnt plan on changing it to 4wd its just that my current gearbox is lets say not existant... and i just wantd to swap for a different one...... and i saw dat box for cheap....

so i cant change the gearbox because it means i need to make it 4wd?

you CAN modify the gt4 gearbox to work but its a shitload of hassle you dont weant to deal with

your better bets are just rebuilding what you have if you plan to keep it stock - otherwise start hunting for a camry V6 box , mr2 turbo , or Beams 6 Speed setup that goes with an engine swap

And yes - Gt4 - buy one - buy one now

yea love to buy one now..... but no cashh and i dnt think dat will change soon... thanks for all the help...

ohh just one more question lol while im at it.....

wats d differentss between stainless steel exhaust and mild steel....

coz i got quoted 1000 for a stainless steel exhaust...
but i for mild steel it was 560.... is der any performance loss or is dis a beta solution and just get a nice muffler

dont waste your time and money on a stainless steel exhaust.just get mild steel if ur looking to upgrade the exhaust on ur 91 sx. stainless steel apparently flows slightly better and of course will last longer. u wouldn't notice a difference between the two on your car. Smile
