Im trying to revive my older phh solexs at the moment and im stuck on one carb, to test i put fuel in it and pump the throttle until fuel squirts out of both sides, my other solex carb works perfectly when doing this but i dont know why my other one doesnt.. any ideas?

thanks.

The accelerator pump diapraghm is probably stuffed. Depending onm how long they have been sitting around, you may need overhaul kits to make sure they don't leak when on the car.

Cheers

thanks for the quick reply mate, but my diaphrams are in good shape as i had pulled it all apart and put it back together again, the actual pump works because i can feel air being forced out the little hole but when i stick it on the carb with some fuel in there it just doesnt want to pump fuel.. its very strange..

thanks

when you take off the bottom diaphram there should be a little plug with a spring and ball bearing in it

sometimes these pop out when there is a pressure build up thus resulting in no fuel being squirted

also a fine pin comes in handy to clean out all the holes

pull the whole carbies apart and clean them out thoroughly and you will find that will help alot too

also there is two little tubes near the top housing (you will be able too see them when you take the top off) they also have little ball bearings in it be sure to check that they are still in position

any more questions drop me a line
