hey i was wondering how i can make the stick in my gearbox shorter, i know theres a join at the bottom of that black thing, how can i seperate it there>? thanks

you dont get the thread back...
if you buy after market gear knobs they come with various attatchments that with a bit of luck fit over the new tip comfortably,,, if not a bit of electrical tape should insure a tight fit for the knob....
or if your not dodgy cut it down then re weld it to the height you wont and therefore more work but you can keep your thread
