hey guys i have a cannon muffler 4.5 inch tip so forth on my car no resontors or anything im a bit worried bout being defected i had a reading done on it at 109 decibals, i was wonderin the best ways the muffle it eg. steel wool inside of it i heard works
any ideas ?? thanks

no u misunderstand me, i have a cannon exhaust on my car and was wondering about puttin steel wool inside of the cannon to muffle it, i sometimes call exhausts mufflers, wat u think ??

yeh i was thinkin just shoving some inside of it ?? and seeing the effects, also i have a slit in my piping bout 20 cm long id say where the join on the pipe has rusted away and was wonderin apart from welding it up or puttin new piping in wat would be good for patching somethin like that up ?? thanks guys

you have a cannon muffler
if it is straight through muffler, you will have to chop it up to do this, otherwise the exhaust gas will spit the wool out again.
so im guessing it is a chambered muffler...i guess you could chuck some steel wool in there. nasty in terms of restriction though.
just replace the rusted pipe, easier and not expensive.

ok yeh ill put some inside it i guess, and see what the restriction is like, yeh i guess ill have to replace the piping, thanks dood

its a 5 inch with a 4.5 inch tip, silencer?? u mean resonator ? i had a resonator for it but the welding was to much of a bitch tryin to put it in so i didnt bother, so i guess i got a resonator up 4 sale ,
does anyone know the legal limit in decibal in NSW for an exhaust ?? thanks guys

true, well lets just hope the piggers dont catch me then, (clutch in as soon as i see them) also do u no wat taking the stock muffler of my celica and puttin the cannon on do u think will give any gain in performance or hp ?? maybe through havin no restriction in the exhaust ??

if you are after performance, go for extractors and a nice system rather than huge milo tins.

yeh extractors, do uno of anyone selling some that would fit my car st162sx 3sge ?? or do u no wat extractors i should get and price? i think they use genie extractors ? thanks

just leave the stock quiet exhaust on there. performance gains will be so minimal that it wont warrant the fu**ing around you will do.
If you have enough money to buy a bling muffler go to an exhaust shop and get it done properly. OR invest the money elsewhere. like in the bank maybe or buy your mum some flowers. itll pay you more dividends than steel wool

yeh cept i already got it on there , it sounds awesome, will cost a fair bit to put stock back on i payed my mate a case of beer to do the welding for me 4 it , also i am soon most likely to be gettin my hands on a veilside front bar from a 180sx im payin basically nothin for it , wonderin with the right moddin if i could put it onto mine ?? or sell it and how much do u think its worth ??

you guys are so nice about the whole thing  i wou8ld just say take it to ashot of u dont know what a sliencer is dood i mean really if u do get defected you will have to do it anyway ? true eh steel wool bad idea just think if u do manage to wedge it up there and not have it come out it would have to be pretty thick and even worse than a bad cat converter, but sorry ill stop throwning terms around just fix holes in exaust and get resonator
