TA22 Baby seat mounting

Hey guys,
weird question
I was wondering if a 1974 TA22 has mounting points for the saftey harness that connects to a baby seat anywhere.
I havent seen any, assuming it doesnt. Can they be put in to the back parcel tray by an engineering place etc?
(I'd like to put the baby seat in for when I look after my son and the wife takes the main car.) That way I can actually get out of the house with him

Not easily,
The 'parcel shelf' is just sheet metal and will need strengthening before it will be adequate. I have had things like large washers clamping over the metal suggested to me but they all sound like dodgy solutions. The parcel shelf in mine had two large holes hacked into it to fit 6x9 speakers so the whole thing is weak as... Child restraint points are located in strengthened areas of the body shell or the chassis.
The best thing to do is talk to an engineer and get recommendations from him. Its not worth cutting corners when you are talking about the safety of a child IMHO.
Cheers,
Dan

Yes I agree, its not worth taking risks or shortcuts when it comes to safety.
I'll speak to an engineer and see if its doable.
If not, well no big loss, I'll just have to get the missus to get her manual license so she can take the celica when she goes out and leaves me with the boy .
Thanks

well, shit - thats the scariest thread I've ever read.
I hope by the time I've got children my TA22 (if I've still got it) is only relegated to Racing duties. Boy would a baby seat in my car kill the classiness it poses. Totally change my target audience in females.

You'd be surprised, I've found being involved lends one a quiet comfort with self which many seem to find quite attractive.
Conversely if you're so desperate to pick up that you wonm't carry a baby seat in the car lest it give the wrong impression, perople will be able to tell you're desperate from a mile off and steer clear.

There is a mounting hole in the rear of the car you will have to take out the parcel shelf cover and you will see the bolt hole in there

To fit a baby seat in a TA22 extra points need to be fitted and a blue plate is required.

I'll have a look under the parcel shelf cover and have a look over the weekend.
(me thinks I should have looked when I put the damn speakers in!
If its doesnt have one, I dont think I will go to the trouble of getting them added, I'll just make the wife get her manual license instead.
