Clarification please. Wed, 13 October 2004 01:47 Go to next message
Since the ability to respond to the announcement is obviously a highly privileged one, and we can't be trusted to be respectable, maybe somebody else could clear it up for me. How does one define a "LOCAL EVENT"? I'd have thought using this forum to organise cruises and such would be a fairly sensible thing, but as I'm obviously wrong (or the "ST162's in Melbourne" thread got deleted accidentally), where should one post such a thread? General Discussion? Hardly seems the place... Cruises & Events? Seems that's for official events only.. *shrug*

I'm trying to be civil by the way, so kindly return the favour if you choose to respond.

I would suggest that you email the board at:

board@toymods.org,au

They could probably explain more clearly, but it seems like what you want to put on is fine.
There was a lot of other stuff like for sale & tech which should, in my opinion, be available to everyone on this forum.

eg I live in Sydney now, but I'm from Qld & travel to the other states regularly, so I'm both interested in where to get bits from interstate & also can offer info on where to get bits.

If someone whats to know a particular thing about where a certain place is, what's the harm in putting in the Title "in western Melbourne" for example? That way anyone who it doesn't affect, doesn't read that post.

I'm not on the board BTW but just have an opinion on this due to my travel habits.

What wagonist said. Plus:

# If you create a thread that has to do with organising, annoucing or following up from an event or cruise, then it can go in your relevant interstate section.

# Questions like: "where can i get an exhaust in South Melbourne?" belong in general car talk. Like wagonist said if its specific to an area, make note of it in the thread title

# The "Cruises and Events" section is NOT for official events only. ANYONE can post in there, but if an event clashes with an official Toymods car club event it cannot be posted unless authorised by the board. Toymods is trying to grow the greater toyota community which is why the interstate and cruises and events sections are there for anyone to use. If you arent sure of something, email the board

It's pretty simple when you think about it dude Smile If its a cruise or event, the lead up to , annoucement or follow up on its ok in those sections.
If its not related to that at all, then it belongs in the main part of the forums (eg - who in adelaide has an AE86?).

Thanks for the questions, in future this is the correct section for any feedback.
