WTF is going on with the Interstate Forum? How on earth are we going to communicate among our own interstate fellow enthusiast when that forum is ONLY FOR CRUISE & EVENTS!
There's already cruise/event section..but now the interstate forums are also for cruise/event info..look at ns.com interstate forum, its not only restricted to cruise/event...
not happy with this new structure (only for interstate forum)..if u guys feel the same way or feel the other way...voice it out here...let this be an open discussion for all including the toymods boardmembers...

What do you mean new structure? What is the name of the area of the section that has the interstate forums?
Interstate Cruises and Events
What are the names of the interstate forums?
Queensland
Local Gatherings
etc
What was posted in every interstate forum as a warning to follow the rules on the 10th of March?
Post Interstate Events Only Wed, 10 March 2004 16:07
Attention
This section is for interstate events and meets only.
Parts, Cars for Sale, Tech questions or any other topics need to be posted in the appropriate section NOT in this one.
If this continues to be abused then it will result in the interstate sections being removed.
I really can't understand how people can complain that the rules have now suddenly changed, when what has happened is that the moderators have finally had enough of people abuseing the rules and cracked down on it.

Nearly every other state does, what make SA any different?
Comparing Toymods forums to any other forums online is futile as other forums follow different rules. Rules have clearly been in place to make the forums work as a community. We are all joined buy the fact that we share a passion for Toyotas and modifing Toyotas.
As for things like "where in SA can I get custom fibreglassing done?" this information should be available to the wider toyota community. I have and will in the future search interstate for "exclusive" Items to finish my projects. Having this information in 1 location makes more sense than having the same subject repeated 5 times over in every interstate thread.
Having a dedicated section for each state creates more work for the moderators who are already working hard to keep the community working, they give up their time to do this to provide you all a place to have this chat. These forums would not exist with out the backing of the Toymods club. The clubs Board have decided the way in which the forums are to be run and to what end they are to be used ( to create an Australia wide Toyota community)
If you want to chat to other people from SA, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ all provide the same service as does email. All other questions, requests for help or sugjestions that are relevent to the greater Toyota community, should be asked to the whole community, And the whole community should be able to answer if they feel they can help and it is in the interest of the thread.
Wanting to post general topics for a State is like wanting to split the forums into different Toyota models (Celica, Supra, Cressida etc.) and this does not help the Community in general.

Maybe you yourself could make a forum especially for SA users? EzBoard.com and other places like that are a pretty good place to do it. I mean, I respect the right of the forum admins to run their board the way they want - that should go without saying - but if you do want more than what is being offered to you (and I know the feeling), then this might be an option for you

stereomike - the point here is that we are trying to keep this forum as a single community, if we made another forum just for SA people then it takes a huge leap in the wrong direction. the mods are trying to help to share information and have everything non-segregational. if we made a SA only forum then we would probably end up with the resources of information brought to this forum just being spread over 2 forums and disperse and dimish the amount of useful chat that goes on here

no, the entire point i've been trying to make is that i don't want to see south australian people leave the forum cos they can't communicate effectively in the SA area. we were just on the verge of getting an SA offshoot of "toymods" or some similar toyota club going, but now i'm afraid of people getting sick of going through all the general chat to find the banter of their SA mates.
i'm not anti toymods, and i'm also all for making everything a community, but you just have to face it that there will always be smallers sects within any community, and you have to give them their room and place or run the risk that the smaller groups will go.

Oh well sure, I agree with that. I mean, clearly this argument is entirely academic as the decision has been made (in the best example of governmental operation I've seen in a while), but you're right. I think the fact that we're using a national forum, it goes without saying that there is going to be some level of segregation.
The funny thing about that is, I can't believe that anybody (other than the mods) even minds or cares. The Outhouse clearly experiences a lot of us, so there is no shortage of interaction between the states. However, the idea of being robbed of a state-central section as well, so that Vics and South Aussies and so forth can more easily chat amongst themselves, seems ridiculous.
Again, I'd not dream of imposing my opinion upon the mods, but I appreciate that they at least allow us the ability to discuss it.
