Engine missing when hot

Only recently, during the very hot weather,
my car has been a little harder to start,
when i shut it off hot, and restart it, it sometimes just dies, and the idle is rough. once i take off its all fine.
this has never happened before, only during this hot weather.
my first thought was timing, but its only running about 10deg.
any thoughts?

heat soak causing fuel to vapourise in fuel rail?
you could test this by.. after shotting engine off hot and checking it doesn't restart or is rough, by applying power to fuel pump and let it run for 30 seconds or a minute, to flush air/hot fuel out of rail, and then try to restart?

With Toyota AFM'd cars (flaptype), the flap has to move before the pump starts.
So you will have to physically move the flap to try this
