Max RPM on CT12's Thu, 14 October 2004 04:39 Go to next message
I found this web site:
http://www.toysport.com/webpages/Techinfo/Referenc es/turbochargers.htm
and it says that maximum RPM allowable for CT12's is 1700000. So would anyone know to work out at what boost presure would the spin to this RPM.

There is no direct correlation between shaft RPM and boost pressure; there are too many other factors to consider.

means after that rpm, things won't hold together long Wink

as far as bolting up, it's a matter of bolt spacings etc...

there is far more to selecting a turbo than just bolting it on...
then again, just bolting it on is the easiest way to 'upgrade'

the CT12's have a unique bolt/flange pattern - even the CT12A is different.

if you want an alternative turbo, you'll have to mod your existing manifold (why bother?) or fab a new one to suit your desired turbo.

to retain your current manifold setup requires using the CT12's exhaust housing - and if you don't want mod the intake piping then it's pretty much CT12s all the way.

popular position seems to be that you treat them as disposable - either replace when fubared or get new manifold and turbo.

replace snafu with fubared

things dont "get" snafu'd... they're always like that (pet hate - misuse of those 2 words)
