Hi guys,
I think my uni joints is stuffed, it been making this humming noise for a few months now. First I thought it was the tyre, but now I'm pretty sure its the uni.
Anyway I've been told that the ae86 use a non repairable type uni joint and the whole lot need to be replace or machine out and this would cost something like $800 which is rediculous considering the car only cost me $1000 to buy.
So I'm wondering is there a cheaper alternative to replacing the ae86 uni joint? How did you guys do this in the past?
Thanks guys

I'm facing the same problem, but have decided to bite the bullet and get larger unis that are replaceable put in. It will be better in the long-run doing it this way IMO. I don't understand why it would cost $800 tho!

Just so you know I had a new one piece driveshaft made up (our of a shortened commodore shaft), with new yoke, diff flange and new unis and it cost me $300....
For $800, buy a brand new custom one for $300 and you can buy a LOT of cases of beer with the money you save (or you could just be happy saving that amount of money ).
Cheers
