Tacho problems with my corolla silvertop swap

Hi fellow toyota owners!
So once more I have run out of ideas how to get my tacho to work. For those who have no idea what I am talking about, here is a recap. I installed a silvertop 4age engine into my 1995 corolla, running on Wolf 3D ecu so the factory ecu is gone.
I have tried to connect the IG- to everything that could give of a signal for the tacho and nothing works. There is also noting wrong with power and earth connection so it must be the ig- signal.
I have noticed that the orginal signal wire from the 4EFE distributor is not the same color as the IG- signal wire that goes to the tacho so my guess is that the signal passes through the orginal ecu. Can this be the case?
I would love to hear your thoughts!
Thanks!
Tomas

does the wolf have a tacho output
u might be able to run the tacho wire straight to the neg side of the coil
u might also need a tacho signal booster

Hi!
I am running msd 6a ignition system with the stock 20v silvertop ignitor. As I said I have tried to plug the tacho into everything I know that should give of the right signal, including the 20v ignitor, tacho output on the msd module, (-) pole on the blaster coil it self and the "coil neg" output on the wolf ecu and nothing works, it is always dead.
Don't you like the idea that the IG- signal might pass through the orginal ecu?
What about this tacho signal booster? How would that work?
thanks for your thoughs.

on factory cars the ig- signal goes nowhere near the ecu
it comes from the factory ignitor and runs to the tach/ac system and anything that needs an rpm signal
u will most probably need a tacho booster to amplify the signal so yr tacho will work
im not to sure which type you need but i have 4 different types
where is the car located

Oh yeah and one more thought...
If the RPM signal dosn't go nowhere near the ecu than why does Apex'i RSM and SAFC pinout charts show where the RPM signal goes to the factory ecu?
And also, how could the ecu control the RPM cutout if a RPM signal would not be connected to it?
Cheers!

sorry but im not an auto electrician
the signal that drives the factory tacho comes
from the ig- signal from the ignitor
this wire does not connect to the ecu
dont forget the ecu does read what the dizzy is doing
so thats where it gets its rpm
there is a signal that returns from the ignitor to the ecu
that tells the ecu that it has just fired the coil
without this signal the ecu would not run the engine
this is why i dont like touchin this wire
