Little Help Please...Differences...JZA-70 or MA70 Sat, 16 October 2004 12:43 Go to next message
Looking into a car for sale in Sydney. I was just wondering if i went to check it out what are the differences so that i know thats its an original JZA-70 Turbo A and not just an MA70 with a 1JZ conversion. Only thing i can think of is the leather interior but then again that can be swapped over easily, is there any other differences? Im thinkin badges or vin number stuff like that...
Thanks

Look at the VIN. Does it have MA70xxxxxxx or JZA70xxxxxxx?

Yep, that'll do it. Smile

Also, the Turbo A was an MA71, not a JZA70.

Thanks guys, so basically just the vin# should do it. So the JZA-70 Twin Turbo R* is what im after not an MA71, pretty sure that was the limited run in Japan of 500 cars if im correct. Very very difficult to come accross. I think its gonna be in the new GT4 game on PS2 aswell Very Happy

**EDIT** Sorry about all the questions but what were the differnt types of JZA-70's and there individual features? I found this on a website is it correct?

There were several specs of JZA70, ranging from the packed out luxury model (x) to the sports model (TwinTurbo R). The TwinTurbo R came factory with Recaro seats, steering wheel and shifter knob and matching trim panels, it also came fitted with Bilstein shock absorbers with up rated springs and charcoal 5 spoke alloys.
Other features of the JZA70 Supra were the replacement of the mechanical clutch LSD with a Torsion unit. The final ratio was also changed to 4.11 compared to the 3.73 of the MA70.

Also if anyone knows of one up for sale in NSW that would be great! Cheers

There are 3 different types here

MA70 - 7mgte
MA71 - 7mgte Turbo A
JZA70 - twin turbo 1jz

The turbo A was the limited run of 500 for group A racing.

Is this Jap Market Only?

I have an Aus Spec MA71 does that mean by default it should be Turbo A, just was never marked that as an Aus Delivery?
