my names khris and i own a camry sv21 1990. ive done some exterior and interior upgrades to my car, and now its time for a bit of engine work. in terms of perforamce and value would it be better to just mod on the standard 3S-FE engine or replace the engine? Im not looking to go all the way on this car, just to spruce it up for the street. i value any opnion and ideas for anyone and please send any hints and tips you guys have. i would also like the names of any places where i can find toyota engines for a good price and any workshops or garages that do engine work. I would also respect anyones opnion on which engine would be best for the SV21 camry.

Dependant on how much you want to spend, I'd mod your current engine first, over performing an engine swap, though ideally your car would be best with a 3SGTE in there.
