hey there again
i was thinking of installing an intercooler sprayer on my aw11 since theses arent most efficient cooler at factory position but im unsure if it will work.
i have all the parts already, old washer bottle with working motor, washer hoses, nozzles, on/off switch, power wires and fuses. washer bottle will be somewhere in the boot, switch somewhere in centre arm rest.
im not sure if i should be spraying down ontop intercooler or spraying up beneath it. because the natural airflow of the car goes from bottom of bay out the lid, if i spray down will it push the water away?
also should i be spraying on the inlet tank where its hottest or outlet tank to further cool it down, or just everywhere in the middle? i be using 2 nozzles.
was thinking maybe when going WSID for eg, just bring some crushed ice, before the run put it in the washer bottle, then when at start line, flick the switch on and leave it spray til the end of the quarter. will this give better result? though i hope it dont leak water everywhere on the floor and get pulled out of the race

Idealy you want a fine water mist to be sprayed with the direction of air over the IC fins.
If your spraying and dripping water all over the place, then your either spraying too much, or the jets are not fine enough.

ditch the std cooler they are like a soggy peice of bread.
GTiR one is a great replacement you wont believe the difference it feels like a completely different motor with a good cooler on it. ( i have a GTiR on my stock gze )

how easy is it to adapt the gtir cooler to the factory spot. like mounting and piping etc...?
i thouhgt the aw11 cooler was quite chuncky cooler just sitting in a bad position. so u think its worthwhile upgrade to the gtir cooler? how much did yours cost? where would i find one in sydney?

some aw11 owners relocate the original i/c down infront of the gearbox to get the better air flow that comes from down there up into the engine bay.

yeah i read about that somewhere but how hard will that be? finding place to mount. plus piping will need to extend longer. and looks like it will need to be very low, which isnt too good for me as i tend to fly over humps, thru rocks and into potholes etc... i wouldnt think it be too good.
anyone know of places that sells upgraded cooler which fits in standard position?

Nissan RNN14 GTiR top mount intercooler:

you have to cut about 30mm off each pipe from the cooler cos they go off at an angle, and unbolt the afm and use flexible piping for it instead of the standard 'solid' stuff. other than that its just the usual piping issues. HUGE difference... the stock one is crap. after i put this on , the motor stopped getting that 'soggy' feeling when the std one got heatsoaked, i dont think i have any big issues with heatsoak now at all even though it does get warm at times where it is , once you get moving it gets fairlt ventilated.
