hi iam new here and are from norway.I have search a whole lot off forum`s and havent find what iam searching for.
- but i must say this is the best forum yet.(for tech and conversions questions)
i have a engine(2JZ-GE)and a 6speed e-shift gearbox from lexus is300,but the 6cyl engine is way to heavy for my car project, but i want to keep the 6speed gearbox.
- is there any 4cyl engines that does fit the gearbox.
my project car is a lowcost that gone to highcost lotus super seven.

I wasn't aware Toyota had a 6-speed automatic transmission?
Oh well in any case, if the transmission is attached to a 2JZ engine it will only fit JZ series engines. If you want a 4-cylinder engine and a 6-speed box, your best option is to buy an Altezza front cut which will score you a 210hp BEAMS 3S-GE and a 6-speed manual gearbox.

A super 7 sounds like a whole lot of fun.
You will probably need to fabricate an adaptor for the 6 speed.
Oh and I second Norbie's question - is it a 6 speed auto?

The brand new LS430's have 6speed auto's
But these are 2004/2005 models.
But who knows when it was actually release as a box.
The 5speed came out in about 97, maybe a year before, so I wouldn't be surprised if they had 6speeds not long after.
But as for the question, the bellhousing is removable (well it is on the 4spd's and 5spd's.
You just have to find out if it is the same pattern as the 4speed and 5speed boxes.
Then you have to find a 4cyl late model rwd Toyota that can with a 4cylinder and automatic tranny.
