I bought my 1981 Celica XX about a month ago. The rims I have on it came with only one of the centre-pieces with the words "Rays Eng." on them.
Only just got the chance to take them off the car and get some different tyres on them. On the back of them is pressed the "Made in Japan", and their size 15" x 6.5". Was a shame I couldn't get an exact weight for them, but I was a bit pumped for time. They are really light, much lighter than my old 14"x5.5" Celica alloys, even with the much bigger tyre on them.

They look cool too Very Happy Sorry, just had to post 'cos I'm happy Smile Not bad for a $1700 car Very Happy

Nice pick-up man... I saw the new BD4's project R33 yesterday and that has Rays Engineering rims that are worth over $5000 just for the wheels... They also weigh jack all for 18" rims...

i saw a AVS rim in a work shop. it had been ripped to bits after an accident. what i noticed was that they were very light, because the spokes were hollow. how cool is that! they look pretty much like performance rims though. form over function.
wish i knew rims could be hollow before i bought a set recently

It shouldn't matter if it's hollow or not. As long as it's strong enough.

Depending upon the thickness of the walls, hollow rods can be just as strong as solid ones.
