RA28 Trimmings Mon, 18 October 2004 12:05 Go to next message
Hey all, Finally got my RA28, it's a hand-me-down from my older bro, but it's been "mine" for about the last 5yrs... anyway, he's left in less then fantastic condition, one problem i think needs fixing asap is the door/window trims, the section where the glass is suppose to press up against the rubber, there is a gap the whole way down, about 10mm wide... is this a matter of replacing the trim? or can i just adjust something? i had a play with it today, but it didn't look like moving... how readily available are parts like drivers side glass, ('cause mine is scratched up bad) window rubbers (the little rubbers guidey bits) can you buy these new? or is it a matter of finding a good condition wrecker item?

Are you sure its not a problem with the glass guides inside the door?

If they are worn/broken, the glass wont be positioned correctly against the seal rubber.

M.W.P. - your probably right, the window is very sloppy in the door, but i can see that the rubber on the top edge of the door is worn/broken/crap. i'll have to pull the door apart and check that one out...

Magicmitch - it freaked me out the first time i saw it... Razz

siktoy - thanks for that, will have a good look at that one... hey, reckon you could give me a basic run down as to what you've done to your car? i'd like to put a 1ggte in my ra28, but i'm not sure what to expect as far as $$$'s go...
