is it better to have 4-1 extractors or 4-2-1?? Wed, 20 October 2004 02:21 Go to next message
hey i am interested in buying some extractors for my 16Valve 4AGE.
I want to intstall 20Valve extractors onto it. Problem is that they come in 4-1 config and 4-2-1..
Which one is better?

depends where you want your power band to be - do a search, this has been covered many times

Yep, right on. And its also the lenght of the primaries and secondries.
Another thing to think about is the cam profile. It no good having extractors made for a low power band when the cams are tuned for a high power band.

with aftermarket cams like 267 degrees, which would be better??

i also heard that 4age extractors are very good in factory condition, does this apply only to RWD or Fwd as well?

afaik 4-1 extractors give more top end power and 4-2-1 give mroe low down
so with hot cams you'de be after a nice set of 4-1's
