CTP insurance rant

Having a bit of a rant here.. But I always thought once I turned 25 my greenslip price would come down.
NRMA continually tells me each year with my greenslip renewal that because I am under 25 and more likely to have an accident I pay a premium on my insurance.
Ok fair enuf... Now I did an online quote getting excited that im almost 25 to see my new rate for the greenslip. Punch in 25, and what! its still the same price! try saying im 40, guess what, same price.
They are sooo full of shit its not funny. Nothing changes when you turn 25 with the greenslip, even though they have said this very clearly before with their shitty reminder notices. The only way to bring it down in price is to have 3rd party property with them for more than 2 years. Now that sux when your 3rd party property is with another insurance company because NRMA wont insure modified cars.
So means i'll always be paying the more expensive rate and the whole 25 year old thing is a pile of crock. Maybe not for other forms of insurance but for green slip it sure is..

hehehe I had a similar type of experience except that once I reached 25 I found they had moved the age where excess and premiums go down to 28!!
I quizzed the insurance rep about it and he said that due to the statistics they work from it showed that you remain high risk as a male until 28.
I changed insurers and am now on what seems to be quite a good deal for my modified vehicle. my current comprehensive insurance is only about $30 more a year than my previous 3rd party property insurance and I have salvage rights in the event of a write-off as well.
I don't know how it works in your state with CTP but I know prices vary a lot and it paid for me to shop around for my insurance.

The cutoff age for CTP has been 28/29 for a number of years.
Now that I'm over 29, its cheaper for me to register a car in NSW than Qld. & I used to complain about NSW rego.

What you dont get unless you tell them is a pro rata rate for the year you turn (insert age of ins cheapness here). Tell them that "I turn XX this year and so I want a discount for that part of the year.". It does work, they cant dispute their own logic, at midnight you become safer, Magic huh.
