Just bought a te22 celica for 400 bucks but the motor is about shot.what can you get in there without needing an engineers cert. in nsw.its just gunna be a daily driver so it doesnt need anything super special but i'm wanting a bit more power.

I think alot of ppl will suggest the 2T-G if u want a simple quick fix with more power.....and i dont think it even classifies as a conversion

Yep, 2T-G is about the only decent upgrade you can do without engineering. You could probably get away with a 3T/2T-G hybrid as well (ie 2T-G with a 1770cc bottom end).

In regards to the t2-g motor is it a 1600 with the twin cam head or is it something else?how much should a half decent one be?

the 2T-G is a twin-cam 8 valve 1.6l four. Don't know how much, shouldn't be that much.

2T-G's can be had around the $500 mark, but shop around as prices vary greatly.
