Hey guys,
As you probably notice by now, im not very "mechanical" minded, but If I wanted to change the belt that controls the water pump, alternator etc, would it be a hard job? Is there only the 1 belt, that controls all? Mine has alot of fine craks, this obviously means change it right?

Accessory belt, shouldn't be too hard to change. Get a genuine belt from Toyota and give it a go. Make sure you don't puncture your radiator while your doing it though, cover it up. You'll have to loosen one of the pulleys to get it on i think.

i think there are two different sizes for 1jz's depending on what model it came from. But toyota printed part numbers on the belt
Very easy job.

dont take any pulleys offffffff!!
Here is a pic scammed from danish's conversion

Pulley in the middle, just above the crank pulley is actually a tensioner. Pop a bar with a 14mm fitting on it and leverage it to the left.
Install belt, then let the tensioner take up the tension.
easy.

I made a tool that grabs the tensioner out of aluminum. THE_WITZL would be proud of it, maybe i should post it up?

only need a socket and ratchet handle...
Put a socket on the tensioner and then force it to loosen enough to slide the belt off it... Remove belt carefully.. don't damage radiator when pulling it over fan blades.. and opposite to put new one on... 10min job...
I have a brand new toyota belt left over if you are chasing one.. they are about $45 from toyota...

I still have a chuckle when I see all of the pulleys on a stock 1jz. Mine has alternator relocated to inlet side of engine on adjustable bracket, water pump and harmonic balance. Nice and simple

Cool, sounds like I may be capable hehehe.
Bennt, how much do you want the belt for?
Also, noticing something, the pulley, furthest to the right, is about 2mm next to the intercooler piping, with engine fles, will this rub????
