I own one!!! YAY!!

Mine boasts the 2.5L V6. Has a A540 Auto Transmission (soon to be swapped for the 3VZFE 5 Speed), has lots of nice improvements done to the engine including custom extractor setup.
As soon as I rebuild my motor, with a little performance in mind, then I may request for Hot 4's too.
Camry's ROCK!! Simple, Cheap, Reliable and of course FUN!

Sure.. they are FWD, underpowered overweight, and with handling characteristics sp? that best resemble a boat.
Sean i also drive the camry when the 86 is defected, unregisted, broken or all of the above hehe.

We've got the magazine here and it does look pretty tough... i think its the gtr front bar that does it. The only things i dont really like about it is that gay retrimming on the roof, and im not a huge fan of the wheels either... but kudos for fitting 18's to it....
A few car magazines have been featuring cars that arent usually, well, how to put it, not the norm?
The newest Street Machine we bought, we dont usually buy it but it had a magna on the cover, absoloutley off its tits... he converted it to a 2 door... swapping the pillar over to the opposite sides of the car so that the doors open up suicide style... converted to RWD, v8 engine fitted, airbagged and the bonnet and boot open tilt ways.... absoloutley beautiful.... and its a magna! not the newer one either, but it did have a facial transplant to the newer birdish looking nose... it took a few years and you can see why.... but as oppsosed to the camry, i dont think the car actually ever gets driven... the camry if you look at the shots of the engine bay, looks like it gets driven a little bit.....

Sure is. Not a genuine one tho. Genuine ones come in polypropylene and cost $10K+. Mine is a fibreglass replica, off a 200SX.

Lol, i thought so.
Man, you can pick a veilside from a million miles away.....
There was a veilside stand ( veilside or cwest) not too far from our trade stand at autosalon a few shows ago, and they had a 180sx bar fully twisted in half and held that way up on display... unbreakable they reackon...

Unfortunately, in fibreglass, there not that strong!!!
But I guess you get what you pay for.
BTW, The comment about Camry's being underpowerred and overweight MAY be true perhaps for the Inline 4 versions, but the V6 is a different kettle of fish. Don't underestimate how quick they can be, especially the newer 1MZFE and 3MZFE engines.

My daily driver is a 2001 camry (1MZFE V6), you'd be surprised how well they accelerate for a family rig, very neutral handling too...
But you do have to wear the "grandpa" image when driving it
Might be worse, could drive an AVALON!

my car was meant to go in zoom.. still might if i ever chase it up.. but magazines are pretty hopeless with their knowlege.. I think in zoom and HPI, donnon is the only one that knows anything
the lead editor wrote back to me asking if my car had any performance mods at all over the stock car....
considering it makes triple the power.. well, you understand my reply...

hey that is the same with my car. The previous owner had a photo of the engine bay in the reader's rides or whatever they call it and they said to get in touch when it is finished for a full shoot. But I don't want to do that as there are too many judgemental people around. I would rather lay low anyway

Hehe, the day they feature a RAV4 on the cover of any performance car mag (and no I'm not talking about the ones in Japan), I think I'll die. I've seen a few getting around inside magazines with a bit of a write-up of them, but they're not much in the "GO" department.
Last one I saw featured was a 3-door offering dropped on it's guts (4" lowered) on 20" rims, a sound system to rip your ears off and a very neat 30Psi boost gauge located above the 5" monster tach. Not bad for a bog-stock 3S-FE.
I think it would be pretty hard to beat Neal Daniel's original 3-door yellow/black Sprintex twin-screw supercharged 160 awkw RAV4. That was a beast.
