Cold Start Injectors, are they of any use? Fri, 22 October 2004 15:25 Go to next message
If you've got an aftermarket computer, with water temp adj, is there any reason to connect the cold start injector?

(that's what this thing is called right?)

they are pretty good for cold starts

if you have aftermarket efi with some sort of cold start fuel enrichment u can remove it but if keeping the stock computer u should prolly keep it Smile

Yeah get rid of it. Unless you live in Siberia it's not really necessary, even with the factory ECU!

That depends on what sort of aftermarket ecu your using and how well it's set up for cold start. If the tuner has experience with that engine or your prepared to spend the extra money for him to play with the cold start every morning, than it can usually be set up very well without the need of a cold start valve.

cold start injector (read: valve) is really only useful BELOW -10degC.

I dont run one with a stock 4age. mines fine.
