Hey people i just got mt import gtt corona all on the road and legal. Was running ok but seemed exhaust was too restrictive so i invested in a 3in. Now im having trouble with the car cutting off when it starts boosting and going around 4500 - 5000 rpm. i was told a boost cut controller mite fix this so i got one. But cant seem to find the diagrams that tell me where to connect it too. Has anyone done this? or anyone know of the diagram thingo im talking about and where i can find it?
all help apprectiated please private msg me if you can help because i always seem too lose my posts.
thanks
Mat

Ahh no man! You don't need to purchase a boost cut controller.
The factory 3tgte EFI system runs a few pressure switches (3 from memory) around on the drivers side near the brake booster/shock tower area.
One of these you can disconnect and bingo! no more boost cut! Totally free of cost also
Its PC pinout on the ecu, I think this is a black/white wire. Hopefully the same colour at the pressure switch. Anyhow.. try disconnecting it and should fix your problem.
The other 2 pressure switches, one is for fuel enrichment and the other for the knock sensor from memory. So if you get it wrong just try another one.

Haha so we'll see a boost cut defender for sale shortly eh?
You'll be fine with it, only trick is finding the right pressure switch. But you can just use process of elimination really..
The fuel enrichment one you don't want to leave disconnected for too long but just for a quick test it shouldn't do any damage.

Yeah you can disconnect the wire or the vac line going into it. All the wires have a plug on them.. I cant remember what method I did with mine.
It wont overboost assuming the wastegate is doing its job. The pressure switch is there to cut fuel after 6.5psi or so. Which is approx what the wastegate is set to. But like you've found when you get a new exhaust etc the boost will get a bit higher and the fuel cut comes into play.
Its damn annoying and bad for the engine as it cuts fuel so engine runs really lean. So you are better off disconnecting it.

No, leave the wire connected to the sensor, but remove the vacuum line to the sensor - it will fool the sensor into thinking it is not boosting, by simply reading atmosphere all the time. the other pressure sensor will deliver more fuel while boosting as it still senses boost through another vacuum line.
