I am placing this idea ' on the table'

If the club purchases a CAR Traler.. that financial members can hire out...
I think that it would be used regularly and is an idea that should be considered

Hehhe.. Are you offering to store it at your place Adam?

While this would be a great idea (and would have saved a few board members from having to borrow a trailer to get their cars to the Show & Shine hehehe ) I don't know how feasible it would be when we have to find somewhere to park it when not in use..

There are already a couple of members who have their own car trailers (I know one of which has been happy to lend or hire it out to other club members in the past as well). Maybe in the future if the club ever has enough money to rent out a Self Storage garage (as well as pay the rego on another trailer) it might be a bit more possible.. Confused

This is something we have been looking into for a while. If we manage to find a trailer at a price that the club can handle we most likely will buy it.

We would have to spend a bit of money on that trailer and the storage is the biggest problem

1: Purchase Club trailer
2: Get the biggest mofo insurance policy for it!

It amazes me the number of times I see a car trailer loaded incorrectly, damaged due to their size (lights area common item broken), over loaded, or not with adequate securring for the car being carried. While I can understand the advantages of having a trailer, I also see alot of problems with people using it who don't have the experience, nor the required vehicle or towing pack to use such a trailer, effectively, legally, and appropriately!

Or alternatively find a member that has one + the room to keep it and persuade them to hire it out to members, with some sort of cover note to the effect of any damage done to the trailer you pay for and any at fault accidents you have are your responsability? Not sure if it can be done in this day and age but... If you do find one can I book it every weekend for the next 12 months or so?

I'm thinking about buying myself a big car trailer with decent ramps and a winch. I'm only going to get it if people around the Brisbane area would be wanting to borrow it for a few dollars to help me pay for the upkeep.
So if any of you brisbane people would be wanting to use a trailer at any stage, let me know.
