There is a little bit of friction but it's not enough to move the car i think it was slipping as i was off roading but it could have just been wheelspin.
i can slip it in and out of gear without the car moving

So is the clutch permanently engaged or disengaged? If disengaged, get some rope, tie one end to one of the tiedown tabs on the front of your car and the other end round a tree or something, and pull sideways on the middle of the rope. That'll give you enough leverage to move the car a bit, then you can chock it, retie the rope, and repeat.
If it's engaged, put it in first and try cranking it. If you can get it started you can putter along in first, and even if not it should move a little way...

Put it in first and turn the key to start, it'll jump forward like when ya forget to take it out of gear to start, but it will start the car and then just drive the rest of the way.
I had my clutch cable break on me and I drove 20 km's to get it home with out a clutch. cos it's not to hard to changegear without a clutch anyway, just starting is an issue.
but follow steps above and it'll work. you just may have to turn the key for a while that's all.

I need to get it up this massive hill it looks like i'm going to have to hire a 4X4 to tow it out.
The clutch moves fine it is just slipping really badly
it doesn't grip at all.
I thought there mite be some adjustment i could make to make it move further towards what ever it sit against.
