Cheap as chips if you know where to look 
I get mine from an industrial insulation supplier, have a look for furnace lagging suppliers etc. in your area.

Woven tape, 50mm wide and 3mm thick. It comes in lots of other sizes though. It was $40 for a large roll. Cant remember what the length was but I stiil have some left from the last roll I bought which has done a downpipe, turbo manifold, and tuned length headers.
