There is a broken stud in the exhaust housing of my t28 Mad, i tried using an easy out but with my great skills i broke off the drill bit in the stud and now its a bit hard to drill into a drill bit i've been quoted about 200 bucks to get it drilled out and then helicoiled. Does anybody know of a cheap but affective method of removing this bloody stud or know someone that charges at least half the price of what i've been quoted.

you'd have to buy a super hard drill bit to drill it out and then a strong easyout to remove it. exhaust bolts/studs always snap. id just pay someone to do it

You can try to fracture the drill bit with a punch (good luck) and then re-drill. As ae95 said - you will need a very strong easy out (blue point or sutton etc).
If you get this far, i recommend using a penetrene spray called INOX. Its Australian made and its real good, Ive used it several times on broken / siezed bolts etc, really makes light work of the job.

Otherwise, if you don't have the tools for the job, its cheaper to get someone else to do it rather than buy all the stuff...

Good Luck

Get some other quotes and spend the money. It won't necessarily require the HeliCoil.
It would very likely cost 1/4 of that if you hadn't tried to remove it in the first place.
The price of experience - unfortunately.

P.S If you can bring it to my place I can attempt it - cost less than 1/2 what you've been quoted.

PM me if you are interested

Blow it out with an oxy set and rethread the hole - either helicoil or retap it to clean the thread up.
