Legal Engine Mount Fabrication Material Tue, 26 October 2004 00:06 Go to next message
When i did my conversion i made my engine mounts/brackets out of aluminium, namely Alloy 5083. I was told by someone that they wouldn't engineer the car with aluminium mounts, any truth to this? I noticed the soarer mounts were cast aluminium.

Depends on your engineer.

I made mine out of 8mm and 5mm steel.
He took a look at them for 5 secs, and said excellent.

If you find out you need them redone in steel, shoot me an email, I have a friend who can do it for you, he did mine.
